Job Summary

Lead final inspection for aerospace components across incoming, in-process, FAIR/IOS updates, and final inspection stages to ensure conformance to drawings, tolerances, procedures, and customer requirements. Interpret blueprints and manuals, review inspection documentation, and measure dimensions using precision tools (e.g., gauges, micrometers, CMM) while performing visual inspections. Train and mentor operators, maintain IOS books/first-article materials, and support continuous improvement initiatives aligned to quality, EHS, and CI goals.

Key Responsibilities

•Inspect product as the certified customer representative across all phases (incoming, in-process checks, FAIR/IOS updates, and final inspection) to ensure conformity to specifications and requirements.
•Prepare to inspect by interpreting blueprints, data, and manuals; review routers, flow cards, and First Articles for accuracy and completion.
•Measure dimensions and perform visual inspections using inspection instruments (e.g., gages, calipers, comparators, micrometers, CMM) and IOS documentation.
•Create and maintain first piece sheets, first articles, and IOS books; complete electronic and paper inspection/test documentation and enter part transactions into SAP.
•Serve as primary training coordinator: conduct employee training, mentor new/current employees, and help perform process audits to ensure skills retention and build team bench strength.

Key Requirements

•HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
•4+ years of progressive inspection experience.
•6+ years in a progressive manufacturing environment (preferred).
•Advanced proficiency reading detailed drawings with geometric tolerances and dimensions, including blueprint reading.
•Advanced proficiency using inspection gages/tools and reading CMM reports; strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
