Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead development and delivery of mechanical engineering design packages for underground mining and materials-handling projects, aligned to standards, client requirements, and mining legislation.
  • •Design and analyse conveyor systems (including sizing, power calculations, dynamic analysis, and transfer chute coordination) and optimise designs.
  • •Develop engineering calculations, equipment specifications, datasheets, scopes of work, technical evaluations, and design reports for mechanical systems.
  • •Integrate mechanical designs for crushing, screening, conveying, pumping, dewatering, dust management, and ventilation systems across underground and surface operations.
  • •Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces, conduct technical reviews and risk assessments (including HAZOPs), and support procurement, construction, commissioning, and operational readiness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised institution.
  • •At least 9 years of mechanical engineering experience with exposure to mining, bulk materials handling, or heavy industry.
  • •Registered Professional Engineer with a recognised professional body.
  • •Demonstrated capability in conveyor systems, transfer systems, fixed plant, and bulk-materials handling.
  • •Experience using conveyor-design software such as Sidewinder or Belt Analyst, plus fluency in written and spoken English.
