Job Summary

Lead smart building technology projects across Denver and Boulder, providing high-level guidance from due diligence through design, installation, testing, and inspection. You’ll collect and analyze site data, develop technology plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and ensure solutions integrate converged networks for access control, security, AV, acoustics, audio, and video surveillance. You’ll oversee cross-functional teams, review designs for code compliance, and produce technical reports, visualizations, and safety plans.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide guidance on collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data, drawings, schematics, and reports to support project development, design, and installation.
•Apply building technology techniques to identify improvements across concept development, design, procurement, integration, installation, and operations.
•Perform research and inspections of site conditions, equipment, layouts, and systems to determine conformance with applicable codes, standards, and permits.
•Develop construction/installation plans, specifications, cost estimates, phasing plans, and technology layout plans coordinating with owners and other disciplines.
•Oversee cross-functional teams and review/approve installation design plans to ensure compliance; produce reports and visualizations and prepare Health and Safety Plans (HASPs).

Key Requirements

•B.S. in engineering (preferred) or equivalent technical degree plus experience designing building technology systems.
•7 to 10 years of experience in an AV and Telecommunications discipline with prior smart building technology design experience.
•Proficiency in building technology principles and processes across design/build and application to project work-related issues.
•Extensive knowledge of smart building design and experience managing planning, design, and installation for renovation and new build projects.
•Strong knowledge of building technology installation/construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping; ability to perform technical computations and inspections.
