Job Summary

Coordinate and enforce Environmental Health & Safety practices in a busy Distribution Center. Conduct daily safety rounds, lead MHE inspections, and deliver hands-on safety training and toolbox talks to a large labor team. Act as first responder for chemical spills and fires, maintain safety equipment, and monitor on-floor behaviors to reduce incidents in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct daily safety rounds to identify hazards, ensure correct PPE use, and promote safe behaviours on the floor.
•Perform daily pre-use inspections for Hand Pallet Jacks and Transpallets; red-tag and remove damaged equipment.
•Provide practical training on warehouse tools, PPE, scanners, and material handling equipment (MHE).
•Train employees on proper manual handling techniques to prevent injuries.
•Lead toolbox talks and monitor on-floor behaviour, addressing unsafe practices and training gaps.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with understanding of warehouse hazard identification and PPE standards.
•Proficient in conducting safety inspections for MHE (Hand pallets, Forklift, trans pallets) and training staff on safe use.
•Experience delivering Toolbox Talks and manual handling training to large labor teams to improve on-floor behavior.
•First-response techniques for small fires and chemical spills, including maintenance of extinguishers and spill kits; 1–3 years of safety-focused experience in a fast-paced distribution center or retail environment.
