Lead the computational biology and data infrastructure efforts for Kingdom, owning the genomic analyses, biobank strategy, and AI-enabled data tooling that accelerate wet-lab workflows. Key Responsibilities

•Own genomic analyses and biobank strategy, including computational safety analyses, whole-genome sequencing pipeline maintenance, and dereplication workflow from 16S/ITS screening to biobank entry
•Build and maintain AI-compatible scientific data infrastructure that captures, stores, and analyzes multimodal data; apply statistical methods to power biological insights and support wet-lab workflows
•Maintain and audit the strain database backend, model interrelated scientific entities into a coherent schema/ontology, and develop metrics to benchmark new assays
•Design and curate screening plates for downstream functional assays, including layout, strain selection, and taxonomy/safety annotations
•Scope, build, and ship data processing pipelines and metrics that enable rapid decision-making across research programs

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 132,500 - 160,000 annually

Key Requirements

•PhD (or equivalent depth) in computational biology, bioinformatics, microbial genomics, or a related quantitative life-sciences field; ~1-3 years post-PhD
•Domain depth in microbial genomics: whole-genome sequencing, 16S/ITS amplicon analysis, dereplication, taxonomy, and genomic safety annotation
•Strong knowledge of statistics and quantitative methods
•Advanced coding literacy: expert-level Python or R, proficiency with SQL, fluency with containerization for reproducible pipelines, and experience building tools that interact with third-party APIs
•Experience designing and maintaining bio-data infrastructure and ontology
