Job Summary

Lead the conceptual design and architectural planning of an agricultural data platform to enable AI-enabled advisory, research, and deployment. Own dataset prioritization, schemas, metadata standards, interoperability, and data governance (access, consent, reuse, ethics). Define incentive mechanisms to improve data quality and minimize bias or distortion, and specify data pipelines, validation, onboarding, and provenance workflows in collaboration with engineering and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

•Own the end-to-end conceptual design and architecture of the agricultural data platform, including data schemas, metadata standards, and interoperability considerations.
•Identify and structure key agricultural data categories needed to support AI model development, evaluation, and deployment.
•Design incentive mechanisms and participation models to encourage high-quality, reliable data contributions while managing trade-offs across quality, cost, burden, and coverage.
•Lead data governance and stewardship frameworks covering access control, data ownership, consent, reuse, and ethical considerations.
•Specify data sanitization, validation, quality assurance, and onboarding pipelines for new datasets and partners, including documentation and provenance tracking.

Key Requirements

•Master’s degree in data science, computer science, economics, information systems, social sciences, or a related field.
•Minimum four (4) years of experience (after graduation) in applied research, data platform design, or data-intensive system development.
•Demonstrated ability designing end-to-end data systems, including data collection, governance, and quality management components.
•Strong cross-disciplinary communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•PhD or equivalent applied research experience is an advantage (not required).
