Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead geohazard assessments, analyses, and mitigation designs for complex projects involving landslides, slope instability, river erosion, and other ground hazards.
  • •Provide technical expertise on geotechnical investigations, feasibility studies, and hazard evaluations for existing and proposed linear infrastructure.
  • •Guide multidisciplinary teams through desktop studies, field investigations, instrumentation programs, monitoring initiatives, design, construction, and site inspections.
  • •Develop practical mitigation solutions such as slope stabilization systems, retaining structures, erosion protection measures, and ground improvement techniques.
  • •Manage project delivery end-to-end and prepare technical deliverables including engineering reports, models, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and permit documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years of geohazard assessments, slope stability engineering, mitigation design, instrumentation monitoring, and geotechnical consulting.
  • •Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering (MSc or PhD considered an asset).
  • •Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta, or eligible for registration.
  • •Expertise in geotechnical and/or geo-structural analyses and design for slopes, retaining structures, ground improvement, and erosion protection.
  • •Advanced proficiency with geotechnical modelling/geohazard assessment tools such as Global Mapper, SLOPE/W, and LPILE (FLAC, SEEP/W, PLAXIS, and PLAXIS LE are an asset).
