Key Responsibilities

  • •Design, build, and update 3-D CAD models, detailed drawings, and GD&T.
  • •Program and prove out CNC toolpaths on 3-axis mills and 5-axis mill-turn centers alongside machinists.
  • •Draft work instructions, router steps, and inspection plans aligned with ASME and internal quality standards.
  • •Collect production data, perform root-cause analysis on non-conformances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • •Present findings and quantified results to engineering leadership at the end of the term.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in a B.S. or M.S. program in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related).
  • •At least 3 months of hands-on engineering experience via course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds.
  • •Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and basic structural or thermal analysis.
  • •Ability to work full-time, on-site in Austin, TX for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
  • •Must provide own housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility (PPE required; some physical tasks up to 25 lbs).
