Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight inspections of drone systems and equipment.
  • •Operate and monitor drones during day/night shifts in a 24/7 mining environment.
  • •Execute automated and manual flight missions for mapping, surveying, inspections, and site monitoring while tracking telemetry, battery status, weather, and airspace restrictions.
  • •Maintain compliance with FAA, MSHA, and company safety/operational requirements, including mission risk assessments and awareness of mine hazards.
  • •Collect and process mission data (imagery, video, LiDAR, photogrammetry), maintain flight logs/records, and coordinate with mine supervisors and stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate (required).
  • •Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • •Ability to obtain and maintain site-specific mining and safety certifications.
  • •High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
  • •Minimum 2 years of professional drone operating experience preferred, especially in industrial/construction/mining/energy environments.
