Key Responsibilities

  • •Survey telecommunications rooms, assess existing cabling infrastructure, identify spare copper pairs/fiber strands, and document cabling routes and configurations.
  • •Install, maintain, and repair inside plant (ISP) infrastructure including conduit, cable trays, copper/coax, and fiber systems across supported facilities.
  • •Perform tasks related to CAT6 cabling, VOIP networks, and fiber optic cabling, including interpreting service orders, circuit diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • •Test, locate, install, and repair cabling for trouble calls; verify work orders and equipment receipt; identify, correct, or escalate cabling issues.
  • •Maintain networks by troubleshooting and repairing outages, testing back-up procedures, updating documentation, and tracking/removing abandoned cable while following safety standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Associate’s Degree and 3+ years of related experience (or 2 additional years of technical experience in lieu of a degree).
  • •Active Secret security clearance required.
  • •Familiarity with BICSI rules, regulations, and standards.
  • •In-depth knowledge of TDM networks and basic networking skills.
  • •Ability to work with power tools and ladders and communicate effectively with personnel of various expertise levels.
