Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the natural gas subject matter expert for North America and develop category, sourcing, and pricing strategies for business units.
  • •Manage a $100M+ portfolio, including negotiating, implementing, and administering commercial and transportation/distribution contracts.
  • •Analyze supply/demand, indices, market drivers, internal forecasts, technology, geopolitics, and regulatory developments to inform decisions.
  • •Optimize value-chain opportunities using market data and supplier relationships to realize contractual value and strengthen security of supply.
  • •Apply Rio Tinto’s strategic sourcing framework and deliver projects through Ariba; measure supplier KPIs, lead reviews, and ensure compliance with health, safety, environment, community standards, and critical risk management processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
  • •Demonstrated procurement and commercial, commodity trading, or supply chain experience in a multinational, industrial, or asset-intensive environment.
  • •Natural gas market and/or petroleum (oil and gas) market knowledge, plus category management, negotiation, commercial contracts, and pricing/hedging experience.
  • •Ability to analyze market data, develop models and business cases, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • •Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
