Job Summary

Design and optimize undersea vehicle manufacturing operations in a fast-evolving R&D-to-production environment. You’ll create production line and workstation layouts using value stream mapping, line balancing, and pull/Kanban methods, model capacity scenarios with simulation software, and deploy capital equipment and tooling to readiness. Key Responsibilities

•Design production lines and workstation layouts for undersea vehicle build from R&D/low-rate through full-rate using value stream mapping, line balancing, and pull/Kanban methods.
•Specify, justify, and deploy capital equipment and tooling, including requirements, capex justification, vendor selection, installation, qualification, and production readiness.
•Own production-health metrics and KPIs (cycle time, throughput, capacity, utilization, first-pass yield, quality) and build tools/reports communicating line health to Manufacturing and the org.
•Model and simulate operations (e.g., Siemens Plant/Process Simulation) to test layout and capacity scenarios before committing capital and floor space.
•Identify bottlenecks and constraints and drive resolution across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to enable clear-to-build and buy signals.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 126,000 - 167,000 annually

Key Requirements

•5+ years in low-rate, high-mix manufacturing or supply-chain roles building complex electro-mechanical assemblies with heavy data use.
•Experience managing large capex budgets for specifying, sourcing, and commissioning manufacturing/test equipment for complex assemblies.
•Proven experience in line/facility design, including value stream mapping, continuous/one-piece flow, and workstation design.
•Deep material-flow expertise with pull systems, Kanban, min/max, and lineside racking/packaging.
•Experience modeling operations in production simulation software (Siemens Plant/Process Simulation) and working knowledge of an MES and an ERP (Oracle or equivalent).
