Job Summary

Perform advanced mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles using CarMax Certified Quality Inspection and Retail Repair processes. Diagnose issues, complete brake and suspension repairs including 4-wheel alignments, and service heating and air conditioning systems. Inspect vehicles to quality standards, manage parts inventory and repair orders, and support customer communication and shop cleanliness while following EH&S requirements.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform advanced mechanical repairs including engine performance, drivability, and electrical systems.
•Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, suspension, complete 4-wheel alignments, and service heating and air conditioning systems.
•Inspect vehicles to CarMax Quality Standards and maintain shop cleanliness per 5S principles.
•Consult with customers on repair needs, explain services performed, and ensure clear communication.
•Review and close repair orders accurately and manage parts inventory by receiving shipments and maintaining proper stocking levels.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 38.4 - 57.6 hourly

Key Requirements

•Completion of New Associate Orientation Training and Operations/Kronos training for hourly associates.
•Maintain required ASE certifications for steering and suspension (A4), brakes (A5), heating/air conditioning (A7), electrical (A6), engine repair (A1), manual drive train and axles (A3), engine performance (A8), and automatic transmission/transaxle (A2) where required by state/local law.
•Ability to read, interpret, and accurately record data.
•Capable of performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
•Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods, including flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
