Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to service members and their families at assigned military installations.
  • •Deliver education, counseling, briefings/presentations, and referral resources for participants, including for extended absences spending plans.
  • •Develop and make available informational financial materials for service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and provide Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including arrival and pre/post-deployment.
  • •Manage duty-to-warn situations per DoD protocol and communicate trends/issues through regular supervision, training, and in-services.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the OCI process.
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
