Job Summary

Serve as the primary External Affairs contact for assigned sites, building trust and strengthening the company’s reputation with community and local stakeholders. Execute stakeholder engagement and communications plans for events, issues, and crisis situations; manage media routing and interview/site-visit logistics; draft incident communication materials; and create audience-focused external messaging. Partner with Communications, Legal, and site leadership, maintain stakeholder relationships, and track KPIs to improve engagement and channel performance.

Key Responsibilities

•Execute stakeholder engagement and communications plans for events, issues, and crisis situations across assigned sites.
•Maintain relationships with community leaders, Community Advisory Panels (CAPs), local government entities, NGOs, and partners.
•Provide strategic counsel to site leadership on social investment priorities aligned to business objectives and corporate citizenship framework.
•Support local media engagement by routing inquiries, preparing background materials, and coordinating interview or site-visit logistics.
•Monitor emerging local issues and stakeholder feedback; draft incident communication materials (FAQs, holding statements, leader briefs) and keep engagement plans updated.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, or a related field.
•Minimum 6+ years of relevant communications experience in external affairs or public relations.
•Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (written and verbal).
•Excellent writing skills with command of AP style.
•Proven ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and pay close attention to detail.
