Job Summary

Lead automated data testing within a complex, multi-vendor data transformation programme. Own the automation scope, backlog, and reporting, designing and maintaining test frameworks that deliver risk-based, auditable coverage across ETL/ELT pipelines. Hands-on with AWS-based data platform validation and supporting test execution, while managing and coaching Automation Test Engineers (SDETs) across multiple teams. Collaborate with data and platform stakeholders and integrate tests into CI/CD.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as Test Lead for automated data testing, accountable for planning, execution, and reporting of automation activities.
•Lead and manage a team of Test Engineers/SDETs, providing day-to-day direction, technical guidance, and coaching.
•Design and implement an automated test approach aligned to a Data Factory testing model, including defining and maintaining automation frameworks and standards.
•Lead hands-on testing of AWS-based lakehouse and data pipeline solutions and contribute to automated test scripts, validation logic, and tooling.
•Ensure quality, defect, and risk management by monitoring progress, analyzing defect trends, and supporting test exit decisions and quality gates.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience in data engineering and/or test management, including leading automated data testing in large-scale transformation programmes.
•Strong technical capability in Python/PySpark, SQL, Oracle, HDFS, and YAML.
•Proven experience operating as a highly technical Test Lead or Automation Lead, including test data and test environment management.
•Hands-on experience architecting scalable automated data testing frameworks, including reconciliation and validation logic.
•Knowledge of AI-driven testing solutions and automation accelerators to maximize test efficiency.
