Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and expand Wise’s regulatory presence in South Africa, managing regulatory and licensing processes end-to-end.
  • •Build and maintain relationships with regulators, public-sector stakeholders, and key financial ecosystem bodies.
  • •Identify, open, and manage new partnerships with financial institutions and payments ecosystem partners from outreach through due diligence and contracting.
  • •Improve existing banking and payments relationships by leading commercial discussions and monitoring economics for sustainable, competitive services.
  • •Work with Product teams to shape local product opportunities and translate regulatory requirements into compliant product implementations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: ZAR 1,408,000 - 1,792,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Ability to independently negotiate ideal commercial terms with a clear product vision and strong commercial understanding.
  • •Experience managing financial regulatory relationships and continuously creating opportunities to improve them.
  • •Deep familiarity with how financial, payments, and FX regulators work, including decision makers involved in approvals.
  • •Comfort working with financial, payments, and FX regulation in a changing regulatory environment.
  • •Knowledge of AML, KYC, sanctions, exchange control, and risk controls.
