Job Summary

Lead safety management for a large EPCM mining project, overseeing HSSE performance across open pit and underground environments. Will develop and implement safety programs, review contractor safety plans, manage emergency response, conduct risk assessments, deliver safety training, and mentor junior staff while collaborating with internal teams and clients to uphold rigorous health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development and implementation of safety programs, health and hygiene initiatives, and environmental control, monitoring, and reporting systems across the project site.
•Review and oversee contractors’ environmental, health, and safety plans and procedures, supporting contractor pre-qualification and selection processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
•Ensure the preparation and maintenance of project emergency response and preparedness plans, and comprehensive health programs considering public impacts.
•Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
•Lead the delivery of training programs on health and safety protocols, emergency response procedures, project requirements and proper use of PPE; mentor junior staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or equivalent work experience.
•7-10 years of safety management experience in active mining settings (open pit and underground preferred).
•Experience in large-scale heavy civil construction/mining infrastructure (haul roads, underground access, tailings, etc.).
•MSHA certification is required; additional certifications (CMSP, CSP, CSMC, CIH, OSHA 30) preferred.
•Knowledge of construction/mining safety regulations and strong communication skills.
