Key Responsibilities

  • •Own steam-cycle mechanical design from heat balance through detailed engineering for the steam turbine generator system.
  • •Size systems and produce detailed deliverables including piping layouts, equipment specifications, P&IDs, PFDs, isometrics, and design basis documents.
  • •Perform pipe stress and flexibility analysis, water hammer and two-phase flow evaluations, and steam purity/chemistry compatibility studies.
  • •Specify major steam-cycle components (e.g., valves, safety/relief valves, traps, separators, desuperheaters, condensers, feedwater heaters, deaerators) and associated piping/supports.
  • •Interface with the turbine OEM and support design reviews, vendor qualification, factory acceptance testing, construction support, commissioning, performance testing, and root-cause analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •4+ years of relevant hands-on experience (10+ years preferred) designing steam systems for utility, industrial, marine, or nuclear steam turbine generators.
  • •B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or greater.
  • •Professional Engineer (PE) license or active progress toward licensure (PE strongly preferred at the 10+ year level).
  • •Experience with ASME codes/standards including ASME B31.1 or B31.3, ASME BPVC Sections I, II, V, VIII, and IX, and ASME PTC 6 (plus related codes).
  • •Must be based in the United States and willing to work on-site at headquarters in Austin, Texas.
