Job Summary

Safely perform hands-on construction support across highway, utility, grade, and on-site plant locations. Support road building by preparing ground surfaces, setting up safety barriers, assisting with asphalt and concrete tasks, and operating equipment when trained. Assist utility work by preparing trenches and helping with pipe installation and alignment. Also support crusher and plant operations, including equipment setup, basic maintenance, material handling, and participating in daily and weekly safety meetings.

Key Responsibilities

•Safely perform a variety of construction duties to assist highway, utility, grade crews or work at on-site plant locations.
•Highway laborer duties such as preparing ground surfaces, removing debris, operating ground compactors, setting string markers, and preparing manhole covers/openings and water lines.
•Utility laborer duties including preparing trenches, attaching trench boxes and pipes, guiding pipes into place, and connecting pipes (tools, lubricants, glue, grout).
•Crusher laborer duties such as performing machinery maintenance/repairs, changing screens/rollers/liners, and assisting with crusher setup/take down and cleaning.
•Plant laborer duties including participating in daily THINK/TRACK and weekly safety meetings, assisting plant production, stockpiling and feeding materials, maintaining equipment in safe working order, and supporting seasonal start-up/shut-down.

•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
•Previous related experience in the construction field is a plus.
•Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
