Job Summary

Provide high- and low-complexity diagnostic testing and phlebotomy services in a pediatric-friendly laboratory. Collaborate with the Team Lead on test selection, ensure timely reporting, maintain equipment and LIS integrity, and uphold ISO15189/CAP/JCI standards while delivering high-quality patient-focused laboratory care.

Key Responsibilities

•Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section. Liaises with the Team Lead on appropriateness of tests, results, and additional testing as required.
•Monitors, records, reports back results, and participates in discussions to rectify areas of concern if necessary.
•Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problem or notifies the Team Lead.
•Responds to questions/queries and resolves problems pertaining to test requisitions, specimen requirements, test additions, priority changes (from routine to STAT and vice versa) and patient results.
•Investigates and takes action to resolve the problems with analytical methods and equipment.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
•Minimum 4 years’ experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Clinical Scientist or Technologist
•Minimum 3 years of Phlebotomy experience in a pediatric hospital
•Minimum 3 years as a Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 laboratory (Preferred)
•Minimum 2 years in GCC (Preferred)
