Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and deliver real-time flood forecasting projects and non-real-time modelling work.
  • •Produce and review technical reports documenting model build, data quality, and uncertainties.
  • •Mentor and develop junior staff within the team and collaborate with cross-disciplinary colleagues.
  • •Engage with clients and stakeholders to build strong relationships and support tender proposals.
  • •Ensure outputs comply with legislation, guidelines, and project management processes, delivered on time and within budget.

Key Requirements

  • •Significant experience in flood forecasting modelling (Flood Modeller)
  • •Strong knowledge of Environment Agency requirements for incident management forecasting systems
  • •Proven ability in applying and calibrating hydrological models (e.g. Muskingum-Cunge, Probability Distribution Model)
  • •Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a relevant discipline
  • •Strong GIS skills (QGIS, ArcGIS and/or MapInfo) and scripting knowledge (Python, Anaconda, Ruby or similar)
