Job Summary

Lead end-to-end geochemistry and hydrogeology projects within a contaminated land/remediation focused team, from initial assessment through detailed investigations, analysis, and delivery of sustainable solutions. Conduct and develop environmental risk assessments (including PSA/DSA/QRA/DQRA and CSM), oversee groundwater and surface water monitoring, design site investigations, and develop remediation strategies. Provide strategic client guidance with support from senior staff and build strong client and team relationships.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead environmental assessments including PSA, DSA, QRA, DQRA and CSM development to ensure accurate evaluations.
•Oversee groundwater and surface water monitoring to provide critical data for analysis and decision-making.
•Design and implement site investigations, establishing rationale and ensuring comprehensive examination of sites in geochemical and hydrogeological environments.
•Develop, optioneer, specify, execute, and validate remediation projects to restore sites and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
•With support from senior staff, develop strategic advice to clients on managing and mitigating impacts to groundwater and surface waters.

Key Requirements

•Academic background in geochemical and hydrogeological aspects of geoscience, engineering hydrology, or related subjects.
•Strong experience in geochemical and hydrogeological contaminated land assessment and management, including field investigation and field supervision (e.g., drilling supervision and monitoring systems).
•Strong understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance.
•Sustained experience in hydrogeological site characterisation and risk assessment, with numerical modelling advantageous.
•Experience in geochemical assessments, with geochemical modelling and chartered status (relevant institution) advantageous.
