Key Responsibilities

•Perform chemical analysis and instrumental testing on materials such as adhesives, polymers, tapes, composites, and metals.
•Assess materials against specifications or conduct root cause failure analysis using instrumental analysis techniques.
•Carry out thermal analysis with some spectroscopy and chromatography experience to support engineering problem-solving.
•Coordinate and manage multiple simultaneous tasks on a set schedule while working primarily in the laboratory.
•Collaborate with engineers, subject matter experts, and suppliers and provide concise technical reports summarizing analyses.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires a university degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years.
•Experience with thermal analysis and characterization techniques (e.g., DSC, DMA, TGA, CTE, TC).
•Experience with analytical chemistry and instrumental analysis, including infrared spectroscopy and chromatography (e.g., FTIR, GCMS, HPLC, GPC).
•Ability to perform quick-turn analysis on materials and provide engineering solutions within days or weeks, with attention to detail.
•Ability to lift 22 lbs. and spend much of the time in the laboratory while coordinating simultaneous tasks.
