Own materials selection and compliance for metallic and composite airframe primary and secondary structures, executing and refining processes for bonding, surface prep, coatings, fastening, and composite layup. Contribute to material/process standards and author technical documentation while interfacing with vendors. Design and run materials and process characterization testing, analyze results, and communicate defensible engineering conclusions. Provide onsite support at manufacturing and integration sites to root-cause process issues and close nonconformance loops.

•Own material selection and compliance for primary and secondary structural parts from preliminary design through prototype manufacturing and production.
•Execute established processes for bonding, surface prep, coatings, fastening, and composite layup on airframe hardware.
•Contribute to material and process standards and author technical documentation including specifications, procedures, test reports, and vendor requirements.
•Design and run testing to characterize material and process performance and analyze test data to draw engineering conclusions.

•2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries (internship/co-op/academic projects count toward the lower end).
•Foundational knowledge of materials science and structural engineering principles.
•Familiarity with airframe manufacturing processes including bonding, machining, coating, surface finishing, composites, and fastening.
•Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Clearance or higher.
