Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the commercial underwriting process internally and externally, underwriting, structuring, and documenting complex prospect and client transactions.
  • •Independently manage ongoing portfolio performance by monitoring trends, maintaining risk rating integrity, and completing annual reviews, including spreading financial statements and compliance/regulatory review.
  • •Manage amendment and waiver processes for the assigned portfolio, ensuring risks are appropriately identified, mitigated, monitored, and communicated.
  • •Expand and deepen client relationships through consistent direct client calling and applying credit policy, pricing, and structure to develop solutions within risk acceptance criteria.
  • •Manage deal team execution using assigned associates and analysts, mentoring/coaching junior talent and supporting performance review processes.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field plus 7-10+ years of progressive experience in middle market and/or mid corporate credit underwriting and portfolio management in a bank or direct lending environment.
  • •Proven, sound credit skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workflow in a fast-paced environment.
  • •Mastery-level proficiency with MS Office desktop applications.
  • •Strong interpersonal skills plus solid written and verbal communication.
  • •Ability to independently underwrite, structure, and document complex transactions while ensuring risk evaluation and regulatory compliance requirements are met.
