Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide electronic technician services to FAA Logistic Center product divisions to help ensure electronic systems, subsystems, and components meet serviceability, reliability, and availability requirements.
  • •Perform electronic system/subsystem/component troubleshooting, repair, assembly, refurbishment, installation, calibration, and testing, including analysis of equipment performance and data collection.
  • •Complete tasks in accordance with applicable FAA and FAALC standards, orders, and technical instructions.
  • •Apply basic and some advanced technical knowledge to solve routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • •Select tools and testing instruments based on circuit interrelationships and plan work sequences, with work reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Minimum High School diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses OR an Associate Degree in Electrical or Engineering Technology.
  • •Two years practical experience in an electronic technician support position, including troubleshooting, repairing, assembling, testing, and installing electrical/electronic systems and equipment.
  • •Familiarity with basic electronics test equipment, including multi-meter, oscilloscope, signal generator, AC/DC power supply, and power meter.
  • •Proficiency in through-hole soldering/de-soldering.
  • •Ability to identify and interpret basic analogue and digital circuit schematics and perform basic electronics troubleshooting (measure volts/current/resistance; identify opens/shorts/grounds).
