Temporary Meter Reader

Read and record gas and electric meter consumption, maintain assigned meter books, and flag special hazards or unusual conditions. Communicate with customers when needed, report gas leaks immediately, and refer complaints or inquiries to a supervisor. Compute usage, leave self-reading cards, prepare required reports, and make special reread trips. Successful applicants may attend five days of training at the LaPorte Training Center and use a personal vehicle for duties.
