Key Responsibilities

  • •Wrap internal APIs (lab orchestration, instrument automation, experiment data) into installable SDKs and MCP servers for fast agent and teammate integration.
  • •Build and improve the lab-wide assistant, including its system prompt, skills, and API integrations so it can act through tools.
  • •Turn manual business processes into agentic workflows (e.g., procurement alerts, invoice reconciliation, reporting and customer update drafting).
  • •Analyze experiment, commercial, and operational data to surface insights and answer questions the team can’t tackle manually.
  • •Set up evals, observability, and monitoring to ensure system/model performance and catch regressions automatically.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong software engineering fundamentals and production systems experience (TypeScript or Python at minimum).
  • •Deep hands-on experience with LLMs and agentic patterns, including function calling, tool use, multi-step workflows, MCP, and retrieval.
  • •Platform mindset: turn working capabilities into clean defaults with good interfaces and documentation for the whole team.
  • •Process-to-agent instinct: identify manual processes, build and test agentic/workflow solutions, and deliver iteratively.
  • •Fluency with data to extract insights from messy databases or spreadsheets (SQL and notebook/BI habit).
