Key Responsibilities

  • •Author technical reports and cultural resource documents with clarity and minimal errors.
  • •Conduct cultural resources fieldwork, reporting, and mitigation to support pre-construction project design and engineering.
  • •Perform data QA/QC reviews and support field activities including monitoring, data collection, inventory, analyses, site form preparation, and report production.
  • •Conduct pre-field Class I records reviews.
  • •Maintain up-to-date knowledge of cultural resources management and Section 106 regulations and planning practices.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified to work as a BLM Southeast Region Crew Chief and holds a general statewide New Mexico Crew Chief permit (other regional New Mexico permits considered).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, Cultural Resources Management, or related field (or equivalent experience meeting Secretary of the Interior standards).
  • •1 to 3 years of experience in cultural resource management, including environmental surveys, impact assessments, and regulatory compliance.
  • •Strong ability in cultural resource management report writing and understanding public/private cultural resources survey requirements.
  • •Ability to travel short-notice (2–8 days at a time), work outside regular hours if needed, and use GPS equipment to navigate and collect data.
