Job Summary

Work on ByteDance’s Compute Infrastructure team building cloud-native, Kubernetes-based infrastructure that powers large-scale clusters for AI/LLM workloads. Key Responsibilities

•Analyze and support enhancements to Hyper-Scale AI Infrastructure platforms to improve performance, scalability, and resilience for traditional and LLM workloads.
•Contribute to Kubernetes performance optimization by monitoring pod lifecycle, tracking resource utilization, and analyzing behavior under varying loads with senior engineers.
•Lead small-scale development tasks for resource management and scheduling in Kubernetes clusters, including testing config updates and automating resource allocation workflows.
•Participate in team discussions on AI infrastructure design and optimization, proposing ideas and solutions based on academic and personal project experience.
•Develop and maintain technical documentation such as runbooks, architecture diagrams, and process guides to improve knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements

•Completing or recently completed a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
•Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Python, Go, C++, Rust, or Java.
•Solid understanding of at least one of: Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, high-performance networking systems, or large-scale software systems.
•Hands-on project experience with container/orchestration technologies like Docker and Kubernetes via internships, coursework, or personal projects.
•Experience developing or contributing to cloud-native open-source projects.
