Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and sequence ICD-9/ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other applicable codes for diagnoses and procedures.
  • •Validate that final diagnoses and operative procedures are accurate, complete, and consistent with documentation.
  • •Abstract relevant information to identify secondary complications, comorbidities, and other reportable conditions.
  • •Assign and validate DRG codes for inpatient cases and ensure appropriate E&M levels using correct CPT codes.
  • •Provide training and guidance to coding staff, update physicians and coders on coding rules and HAAD directives, and deliver feedback on coding/documentation gaps.

Key Requirements

  • •Review and code medical records using ICD-9, ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG standards accurately and consistently.
  • •Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience.
  • •Hold a valid AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in Allied Health Sciences or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • •Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office) and excellent spoken and written English.
