Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely perform transmission and distribution pole line work, including climbing poles and installing or maintaining crossarms, pins, insulators, wires and cable, transformers, cutouts, lightning arrestors, and related equipment.
  • •Work on energized lines and equipment in accordance with company Distribution/Transmission Standards and safety regulations.
  • •Assume emergency duty with minimum supervision and direct activities of lower-rated workers while covering standby requirements.
  • •Prepare and keep required records and perform other assigned work.

Key Requirements

  • •Graduate of an approved vocational school/institute/college with acceptable grades majoring in electrical and line worker training, or have previous line work experience (or line worker apprentice/first-class service worker).
  • •Valid Class A driver’s license (or Class B if lineworker prior to 7/1/2009) with a good safe-driving record.
  • •Ability to practice company safety policies and perform all essential functions of the classification.
  • •Subject to the company random drug and alcohol testing policy.
  • •Must reside within 45 minutes of the regular reporting location or be willing to relocate within nine months and be available for emergency assignments.
