Key Responsibilities

  • •Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for projects and activities carried out by others.
  • •Assesses feasibility and soundness of proposed planning products and monitors assigned operations and activities.
  • •Provides technical advisory and consultancy as a staff advisor on planning specialty, facility/type, industry, equipment, or program functions.
  • •Oversees specialized planning functions for large-scale new development proposals and environmental studies.
  • •Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and advises the Planning Director, councils, boards, commissions, and elected officials; prepares reports with recommendations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
  • •Master’s degree preferred but not essential.
  • •Professional certifications such as PMP; AACE International Certification (advantageous); Primavera P6 Certification.
  • •Typically 12+ years of planning and scheduling experience.
  • •At least 5 years in a lead or management position with extensive experience in major infrastructure, rail, transportation, construction, or engineering projects.
