Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage projects to ensure coordination and compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs across schemes of varying scale and complexity.
  • •Lead technical delivery and act as technical lead/reviewer for design work and project solutions.
  • •Develop and deliver design drawings, standard construction details, specifications, and bill of quantities to support tender packages.
  • •Manage client and external stakeholder relationships and advise on project proposals, assessments, and intended outcomes.
  • •Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation and in-house quality assurance processes, including maintaining a design risk register and participating in risk workshops.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree qualified in civil engineering (or an appropriate subject) and a member of a relevant professional institution; ideally a Chartered Civil Engineer or Incorporated Engineer.
  • •Extensive post-professional-qualification experience (>5 years) in the design and project management of road schemes and active travel schemes.
  • •Demonstrable ability to lead project technical delivery for Road or Public Transport/Active Travel schemes, including experience of TII/NTA/Local Authority procedures.
  • •Strong understanding and application of current design standards (including Urban Street/Active Travel Design such as DMURS, and Highway Geometric Design using TII publications).
  • •Experience preparing contract documents or contract administration/site supervision using Public Works Contracts/NEC Contracts; Civil3D/Open Roads/MX and WinDes knowledge is preferred.
