Key Responsibilities

  • •Integrate airfield safety requirements across aviation programmes and coordinate hazard identification, risk assessments, and Safety Case development.
  • •Facilitate safety reviews and coordinate technical, operational, and regulatory inputs to support operational readiness and authorisation processes.
  • •Assess and coordinate operational/infrastructure changes affecting airfield operations, managing change impacts and ensuring compliance with SMS and regulatory requirements.
  • •Develop programme assurance and approval plans, coordinate regulatory submissions/approvals, and interpret regulatory requirements for project teams.
  • •Promote a positive safety culture, lead operational safety assurance activities (inspections, audits, reviews), and support emergency preparedness, resilience, and incident investigations.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience within aviation and/or aerodrome operational environments.
  • •Developing, reviewing, or managing Safety Cases and operational safety assessments.
  • •Working knowledge of CAA regulations, publications, and aviation safety standards.
  • •Applying Safety Management Systems (SMS) and safety assurance principles.
  • •Undertaking hazard identification, risk assessment, assurance activities, and leading safety reviews/workshops.
