Job Summary

Provide direct and indirect age-appropriate nursing care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) per shift schedules, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, adhere to JCIA and international patient safety standards, assess and coordinate care across the continuum, document thoroughly, and support pediatric and adult patients in perioperative recovery.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide direct and indirect age-specific nursing care in PACU per unit protocols and patient needs
•Perform comprehensive patient assessments, coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, and document in the medical record
•Develop and revise care plans, manage post-anesthesia recovery, and monitor for complications
•Ensure safety and infection-control practices, administer medications and therapies as required, and maintain unit competencies
•Support pediatric and adult patients and families, participate in quality improvement activities and education on the unit

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in nursing (minimum three years full-time course) or nursing degree with two years clinical training; RN registration as required (Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia acceptable) if applicable
•Valid nursing license/registration to practice in home country or last country of employment
•Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or as scope dictates
•Minimum of two years of recent post-graduate experience in a PACU
•Must hold a valid license/registration in home country and/or country of last employment and maintain required certifications
