Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out desk studies, site inspections, rockface surveys and geomorphological mapping.
  • •Support ground investigation planning, procurement, supervision of fieldwork, and preparation of interpretative reports.
  • •Analyze geotechnical data to develop ground models and prepare design and reporting of engineering solutions.
  • •Work on foundations, retaining walls, soil slope stability, earthworks and rock/earth slope stabilisation measures.
  • •Use digital software such as Openground for data management and Leapfrog for 3D geological modelling, plus 2D/3D numerical analysis tools as needed.
Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

  • •A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology/Geology with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or higher.
  • •An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is advantageous.
  • •Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with competent use of AutoCAD/Civil 3D desirable.
  • •Willingness and ability to work towards professional qualifications through the ICE, IOM3 or The Geological Society.
  • •Flexibility to work away from home on sites and occasionally in other offices, with an ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
