Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, connect, test, and maintain marine electrical systems for interior communications.
  • •Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical equipment and cables, assisting with diagnosing equipment problems.
  • •Perform removal and installation of cables (overhead, along bulkheads, or under the deck) and repair/replace cables and connectors.
  • •Layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, coaxial cable, or fiber optic onboard Navy vessels, including disconnections/reconnections for complete installations.
  • •Read and interpret schematics and blueprints and follow controlled work packages and established quality and safety procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Obtain/hold DoD Secret clearance and be able to obtain a CAC card (biometric DBIS credential required for government installations).
  • •Minimum of two years’ experience operating, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment on-board Navy/Coast Guard/MSC or maritime vessels with practical shipboard HM&E experience.
  • •Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic equipment in shipboard and shipyard environments.
  • •Familiarity with Interior Communications (IC) systems such as MC, HYDRA, IVN, IVCN, SATCC, and SIWCS.
  • •Prior experience with fiber optic cables and multi-pin connectors, including working knowledge of NSI 009-73/NSI 009-25 requirements and safe use of multimeters/megohmmeters.
