Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and manage the GEC design team and coordination activities for Station Design and SOE design efforts.
  • •Attend and facilitate design coordination meetings and CWG/stakeholder coordination meetings; review design documents for compliance and cost optimization.
  • •Coordinate design delivery schedule and construction schedule analysis with project controls; liaise with CPs, VTA Design Manager, and third parties.
  • •Ensure delivery of contract packages by coordinating with Contract Leads, Specification Lead, and Procurement Lead; provide technical reviews of station design documents across disciplines (structures, architectural, MEP, civil/site, utilities, roadways).
  • •Support facilities engineering manager and engineering manager on program tasks and monitor overall design activities; track CP action items and communications beyond the CP team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
  • •Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • •15+ years of relevant post-education experience in related roles within the industry; 5+ years in a similar role preferred.
  • •Related experience in large rail transit design and construction projects; experience in transit, tunnels, and BART (or similar) preferred.
  • •Excellent self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage staff and interact with employees at all levels.
