Job Summary

Lead the underground station design program, overseeing GEC design teams, coordinating station design efforts, and overseeing design reviews with BART and VTA. Manage schedules, ensure compliance and cost control, liaise with stakeholders, and guide multi-disciplinary teams to deliver complex rail station packages from San Jose.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and manage the GEC design team and coordination activities for Station Design and SOE design efforts.
•Attend and facilitate design coordination meetings and CWG/stakeholder coordination meetings; review design documents for compliance and cost optimization.
•Coordinate design delivery schedule and construction schedule analysis with project controls; liaise with CPs, VTA Design Manager, and third parties.
•Ensure delivery of contract packages by coordinating with Contract Leads, Specification Lead, and Procurement Lead; provide technical reviews of station design documents across disciplines (structures, architectural, MEP, civil/site, utilities, roadways).
•Support facilities engineering manager and engineering manager on program tasks and monitor overall design activities; track CP action items and communications beyond the CP team.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
•Master’s Degree is preferred.
•15+ years of relevant post-education experience in related roles within the industry; 5+ years in a similar role preferred.
•Related experience in large rail transit design and construction projects; experience in transit, tunnels, and BART (or similar) preferred.
•Excellent self-leadership and interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage staff and interact with employees at all levels.
