Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Coordinate and monitor progress of tobacco control priorities through follow-up, monthly coordination meetings, progress reports, and ENDS project submissions.
  • •Support capacity building, mentorship, and follow-up of tobacco control enforcement officers, including monitoring district action plans and compliance monitoring reports.
  • •Provide technical and operational coordination for the Tobacco-Free Farms initiative, supporting farmer transition to alternative livelihoods and ensuring alignment with national priorities.
  • •Provide technical support to the Directorate of Government Analytical Laboratory (DGAL) and relevant institutions for global collaborative studies, laboratory testing, product analysis, and joint inspections.
  • •Monitor implementation of the Tobacco Control Act and tobacco industry interference, including surveillance of traditional and social media platforms and sharing findings to support enforcement and policy implementation.

Salary: UGX 112,973,400

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in Public Health or a related field.
  • •Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health program management.
  • •Knowledge of WHO FCTC and MPOWER.
  • •Experience with tobacco surveillance data analysis.
  • •Experience working with government institutions and development partners, including technical writing for WHO reports, donor proposals, and policy briefs.
