Job Summary

Architect the world representation layer for Applied Intuition’s Acuity autonomy stack, building foundational scene and mapping systems that support downstream sensor fusion and path planning. You’ll design 4D spatial abstractions and high-performance data structures (including ECS frameworks and spatial indexing), develop computational geometry and world-state pipelines, write low-latency C++ for real-time performance, and lead technical integration across air, ground, and maritime domains.

Key Responsibilities

•Architect and implement core world & scene representation systems, including ECS frameworks, spatial indexing, occupancy representations, and 4D object management for multi-agent environments.
•Build and optimize computational geometry and world-state pipelines between raw sensor data and the path planning stack, including coordinate frame management, spatial queries, and environment abstraction layers.
•Write highly optimized C++ (C++20) focused on low latency, cache efficiency, and memory-conscious design, including profiling hot paths and eliminating allocations.
•Drive architectural decisions and design clean APIs that enable cross-domain integration across air, ground, and maritime autonomy stacks.
•Serve as a technical anchor across teams by collaborating with sensor, planning, and simulation engineers to ensure the scene layer meets autonomy stack needs.

Key Requirements

•7+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in spatial systems, world modeling, or simulation environments.
•Expert-level C++ skills (C++20 or later), including template metaprogramming, move semantics, SIMD, and systems-level performance optimization.
•Hands-on experience building world/scene representations (e.g., game engine, simulation platform, or autonomous system), including dynamic object state, spatial indexing, and real-time updates.
•Strong background in computational geometry including coordinate transformations, spatial data structures (BVH, octrees, k-d trees), geometric algorithms, and collision/proximity systems.
•Strong proficiency in Python and shell scripting for tooling and automation (plus experience with AI-assisted development tools).
