Key Responsibilities

  • •Define control requirements and acceptance criteria for SOX ITGC domains (logical access, change management, computer operations, and program development) across in-scope systems.
  • •Set control expectations for auditability, segregation of duties, change control, immutable logging, and evidence retention before go-live, especially for financially significant systems.
  • •Review and pressure-test major design changes for SOX control impact while decisions are still cheap; maintain visibility into scope and evidence requirements changes.
  • •Stand up continuous controls monitoring and automated evidence collection for ITGCs, including testing, walkthrough preparation, and mapping to the common controls framework.
  • •Drive remediation of control deficiencies by partnering with engineering owners, assessing whether gaps are closed before re-testing, and evaluate scope changes through a SOX lens.

Key Requirements

  • •Have led or contributed to an ITGC program through SOX 404 readiness and/or at a public company, with working knowledge of PCAOB AS 2201 and COSO 2013.
  • •Have engineering fluency to read code and Terraform, follow CI/CD end to end, and challenge designs technically.
  • •Have programming skills in Python or a systems language such as Go, Rust, or C/C++.
  • •Have deep familiarity with developer platform, release engineering, cloud infrastructure, or ERP/financial systems control domains.
  • •Use Claude and other LLMs as daily tools and understand what SOX assurance workflows AI can and cannot automate today.
