Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field inspections on assigned construction projects to verify conformance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and codified requirements.
  • •Collect, compile, and analyze on-site data and use survey instruments, metering devices, and test equipment to assess site conditions, equipment, construction, and materials.
  • •Verify load calculations, interpret contract plans and specifications, resolve interpretation differences, and document work progress, issues, and findings.
  • •Write accurate technical reports and documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, and technical drawings/diagrams.
  • •Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and contractors; may serve as the only inspector or guide inspection activities and training for entry-level staff.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 9+ years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior construction inspection experience.
  • •Working knowledge of construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, and relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance, and record-keeping requirements.
  • •Computer skills to complete daily and weekly reports, plus photo documentation capability with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • •Essential professional licensure/certification(s), and a valid state driver’s license with the ability to pass an MVR background check.
  • •Strong analytical judgment, technical writing ability, and self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, and prioritization.
