Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive and operate the distributor truck to apply asphalt emulsions to roadways.
  • •Set pace and control paving operations by regulating flow, heat, pumps, and spray bar settings.
  • •Monitor flow gages, tachometer, and temperature gauges to ensure uniform distribution.
  • •Perform daily safety checks and inspections, and complete daily equipment maintenance.
  • •Follow OSHA/MSHA and company policies, report issues to the supervisor/manager, and assist with general duties as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Drive and operate an asphalt distributor truck to spray asphalt emulsions on road surfaces.
  • •Maintain and set up equipment, including connecting hoses, filling pressure tanks, regulating burners, and monitoring gauges for uniform distribution.
  • •Snap/screw spray bars and adjust valves and levers to achieve the required spray width and spray bar height.
  • •Complete daily safety checks and inspections for leaks/damage, and perform daily maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational.
  • •Hold a Class A or Class B CDL with N-tanker and X-hazmat endorsements, plus high school/GED and 1–2 years of related asphalt/road construction experience.
