Key Responsibilities

•Design and deliver robust, high-scale routing experiences for the Data platform/pipelines team within Twilio Segment.
•Ship features with high availability and throughput, using eventual consistency where appropriate.
•Collaborate with engineering and product leads, as well as cross-team Twilio Segment groups, to deliver reliable data solutions.
•Support platform reliability and security while building globally available, scalable distributed systems.
•Mentor engineers on technical architecture and design and act as team Tech Lead when needed.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; hands-on experience with high-scale messaging/streaming systems (several thousand events/sec) and processing engines (1M+ events/sec).
•8+ years of experience writing production-grade code in a modern programming language (Go, Java, Scala, or similar).
•Strong fundamentals in designing highly available, fault-tolerant distributed systems and deep knowledge of Linux systems and networking.
•Experience operating large-scale distributed systems on AWS and/or GCP, with experience in Kafka/AWS Kinesis or Spark/Flink and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS/ECS).
•Proven ability to lead teams or projects end-to-end, and excellent written/verbal communication to convey complex concepts.
