Job Summary

Operate an HMA batch or drum asphalt plant safely and efficiently. Assist the Plant Manager with daily facility operations, inspect and maintain core plant components (including baghouse, dryer flights, and burner tip/nozzle), and perform preventative maintenance and inspections. Maintain and operate front-end loaders, complete required daily paperwork and production reporting, and follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements while responding to hazards and malfunctions.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist the Plant Manager (if applicable) with daily operations and facility upkeep.
•Inspect and perform maintenance on plant parts, including baghouse, dryer, and burner components.
•Maintain and operate front end loaders and perform necessary maintenance and repairs across the plant.
•Follow applicable regulations and permit conditions for safety and environmental compliance.
•Complete daily paperwork and reports, including production reports, sales reports, and nightly cash customer deposits.

Key Requirements

•Join Local 18 IUOE within 60 days of employment.
•Perform safe, efficient daily operations of an HMA batch or drum plant.
•Inspect and perform maintenance on plant parts, including baghouse bags, dryer flights, and burner tip/nozzle.
•Maintain and operate front end loaders and access all areas of the plant for maintenance and repairs (including welding, fabrication, and basic electrical troubleshooting).
•Read and interpret safety/operating manuals, perform basic math, and be competent with computers and Windows-based programs.
