Key Responsibilities

  • •Respond to emergency incidents, major fires, disasters, and EMS requests, providing appropriate medical care.
  • •Manage up to four ERT Team Leaders to ensure smooth ERT operations and maintain discipline and morale.
  • •Assist in fire prevention programs, fire risk assessment, and inspections, including development of SOPs, procedures, and fire safety standards.
  • •Investigate fires, analyze findings to determine causes, and prepare written/computerized reports while maintaining records.
  • •Schedule and conduct fire inspections, training, and awareness across the mine and coordinate training activities; assume the Superintendent role when absent.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the mining industry.
  • •Extensive knowledge of fire prevention practices, firefighting and rescue techniques, and fire behavior principles.
  • •Experience planning and supervising activities of subordinate personnel and managing discipline and morale.
  • •Basic Life Support (BLS) and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) qualifications.
  • •Fire and rescue credentials such as SCBA certification and completion of required statutory fire service examinations (FF1/FF2/IFE or equivalent).
