Job Summary

Perform mechanical blasting and surface preparation for plating operations on the 2nd shift at the Opa Locka, FL facility. Mask/stop-off parts, wax and apply chemical processes (e.g., alodine, brush cad, cad strip, passivation), sand blast and run flash/hard chrome and bright cad operations. Measure part thickness using gauges, support pre/post plating steps for NDT and related shops, and document operations while following safety-sensitive procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare parts for plating by masking or stop-off for plating, shotpeening, and sandblasting.
•Wax parts and perform alodine, brush cad, cad strip, and passivation steps.
•Sand blast parts for plating (including chrome, nickel, cadmium, and nital etch).
•Measure component parts using thickness gauge and measuring instruments on process lines.
•Run plating operations such as flash/hard chrome and bright cad, perform degrease/pre- and post-plating NDT-related steps, and load/unload parts while documenting operations.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
•Experience preparing parts for plating processes such as masking/stop-off and related preparation steps.
•Experience using measuring instruments including micrometers, thickness gauge, dial bores, calipers, and telescoping gauges.
•Basic computer skills.
•Ability to perform mechanical blasting/surface treatment and document time and date of each operation.
