Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as the technical point of contact for outsourced special processes and consumables, solving supplier challenges and mitigating risk related to manufacturing and quality issues.
  • •Review assigned parts issues, drive root-cause corrective actions with suppliers and/or SpaceX, and take actions toward closure and re-sourcing when needed.
  • •Create and disposition issue tickets with engineering counterparts for re-work, repair, or use-as-is dispositions.
  • •Own supplier NPI and lead DFM reviews to ensure parts are manufacturable early, preferably before sourcing.
  • •Drive PPAP to stabilize supply and reduce inspection oversight; lead containment activities and collaborate with procurement and cross-functional teams to improve the supply base.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role (including school projects, clubs, or internships).
  • •Experience with special processes such as thin film coatings, thermal spray coatings, chemical processing, plating, thermal protection systems, or similar.
  • •Experience with consumables used in aerospace applications (e.g., paint, adhesives, chemicals).
  • •Knowledge of supplier quality processes such as PPAP, advanced product quality planning, and first article inspection reports.
